Arena Snowparks is coming off a busy summer season with our work at the Camp of Champions and a late summer trip to New Zealand to work on the World Junior Championship at Cardrona and Snowpark NZ with fellow Global Snowpark Alliance member Development Snowparks.

Most recently ASP has been working in Whistler up on Blackcomb Mountain re-grading the dirt in ground structure for the halfpipe in preparation for the newly purchased 22ft Global Cutter arriving this winter.

The in ground structure has been widen by 4m and work has been done to correct the fall line. During the redesign of the dirt we relocated a snowmaking line that ran across the bottom of the right wall. As a result we were able to extend the length of the walls and flatbottom by 10m.  These changes are going to make it easier for the machinery to do the work of cutting the pipe and make the pipe last longer between re builds. If you have never ridden a Global Cutter shaped halfpipe, do yourself a favour and get out to Whistler this season and check it out.

Next up for ASP is rail and box construction as well as production of the popular modular Combi Box system. New for this season ASP is stocking a full line of snowpark shaping tools including vert shovels and park rakes. These are the same tools we used at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver.
